To traverse the Mississippi River down low, via canoe, is an experience I will not soon forget. Along her banks and into her towns you will find a people of a certain grit: multi-generational farmers, blues musicians, rough and tumble characters representing the heart and pulse and life blood of America. I took photographs of the people who helped me along my journey, who shared with me their stories. I took photographs of the folks that made me proud to call myself an American.
